We are already investigating on the issue and are working on a fix. Sorry for the inconvenience! We will keep you updated here and on our Twitter page.
The issues related to login should now be resolved. For those of you who were impacted, please try logging into the game again. You didn't get down voted, it's just reddit's karma fudging.
Reddit bans some bots from spamming so that it seems like the bot's posts are being viewed, but can't actually be seen to people on the subreddit. To prevent the bots from noticing that their posts aren't being viewed, reddit's algorithm fudges the karma score on comments and posts a bit to make it seem like they're being voted on.
Try refreshing a page and watch as the karma number fluctuates up an down randomly, but there's obviously not that many people actively voting on a comment or post.
Thank you so much, after 19 hours of trying to log in it finally worked, i've also informed the other members of your development team with alot of different emails and it seemed to warn them about the problem etc. Muledump still says seconds remaining. Thanks for the fast post and for not keeping the community in the dark.
My main account has not been experiencing any login difficulty. Generally, the person who interacts the most with the public community. Think myzz before they left, the one always talking on the reddit and giving out updates.
Now krathan seems to do it mostly, with silex and random popping up from time to time. In small companies like deca , often times it is a 'secondary' thing and the person serves another role like developer as well. In larger companies, it is a separate job as communities are that big. I also have absolutely no idea what you are referring your question to so this might not be related to your question at all: P , but in general business, this is what it is. I heard about this, and was concerned that I would be a victim of it, thanks for the quick response from the deca team!
Please deca I'm begging you, at least give us some compensation, like a couple of extra days on the calendar for the ones we missed or something. Thank god, I just logged onto reddit to submit a post asking if I was banned! Thanks deca for the update and not pulling a kabam. I'm a legit player and I haven't noticed any issues. None of my friends or guildies had them either. Your friends and guildies? Thats a small sample size, buddy. Just because you and your extremely active guild haven't experienced issues doesn't mean no one else is.
My guild might be not very active, but 13 different accounts from it including me and 2 alts for our founder logged in during past 16 hours and didn't have any issues. It doesn't matter though. That guy said that issue affected everybody, but clearly, if there is at least one person not affected by it, it didn't affect everybody. By the way, Mendibizz was totally right. Just check out the forum that shall not be named hint hint wink wink if you want proof from actual dupers and hackers.
It's okay to praise DECA, but pretending like this was not a mishap on DECA's part like almost anytime they release a band-aid "patch" to exploits is doing yourself and everybody else a real disservice. You should be better than that as a closed tester. I just shared my observations, and yeah I wrote that before I had any information on what was happening and what was the cause.
Apparently all of us were just lucky to not trigger an account in use error during that period, therefore we didn't experience a never-ending account in use thing. Generally, I don't think both blindly praising or hating Deca is correct. They do a lot of good stuff to the game, enough to make me happy. On the other hand, I don't support everything they change, and with some things they make mistakes usually not intended though, I swear they don't sit and suggest "Oh let's think of a new good way to screw over everyone, including legit players".
But the most important part is that they are people, they are responding to player's feedback and pay attention to complaints and requests, they are working really hard on the game and trying to satisfy the player base.
It doesn't always turn out perfectly from the first try, but I see how much effort they put into it , sometimes working extra hours or during the weekend. I don't think that they deserve that attitude most players have when they start encountering issues and blame Deca for everything. It doesn't matter what sample size is in that case. If you say that something affects everyone and then there is at least one person not affected by it, that means issue already didn't affect everyone and therefore it doesn't matter if it didn't affect a small group of a large group of people.
One person is enough to prove that statement was wrong. Honestly, considering that Muledump was fucked up in order to "fix bruteforcing", this would not be surprising at all. By the way Yahoo api didn't change, DECA just blocked every signal from yahoo api, thus essentially breaking muledump to be unable to communicate with the server yahoo api to get information about characters and accounts.
So you don't believe Doc? And also, are you admitting that you were just talking shit like a shitposter whoops, I forgot this was reddit? Human beings have the capability of learning from one another, so does getting my information from the issue tracker make me an idiot? Are you an idiot for attending school and learning things from another person than through your own experiences?
And to think that the way I got my information is less valid than yours is a really narrow minded, binary driven, black and white mindset of the world. I got my information from studying the github issue tracker to find my answers, and you got your information from reddit. Multiple solutions and multiple problems can coexist. This is the internet after all. I may as well not even exist so why get so effing angry over a flash game subreddit?
Keeeep sucking that dick. Also the problem you mentioned is rather minor to disabling the source of muledump entirely, don't ya think? Just think about it logically, buddy. I will say one more thing though. If DECA blocked the yahoo api, please explain how I was able to load muledump for my main account last night at 3: Explain why DECA has a thread regarding muledump and trying to find a solution to get it to work again?
Please, in the good name of Doc, link me to where he specifically describes the manner in which DECA broke muledump. The block is IP based at a rate of roughly 40 per 5 minutes some say This is why Yahoo YQL works sporadically -- sometimes the rate limit is not met. This is especially true now that so many people have switched to my Muledump fork which removes the YQL api from usage. Rate limiting is too restrictive. You can get rate limited simply logging your characters at a slow pace.
